The LI-3100 Area Meter is
designed for efficient, exacting measurements of both large and small objects. Capability
for either 1 mm2 or 0.1 mm2 area resolution is provided on the same instrument. This
versatility provides the flexibility necessary for diverse project requirements.
Biological applications include measuring small leaves or leaf discs
with precision similar to that obtained when measuring large objects. A wide variety of
leaves can be measured : from small samples such as wheat, rice, or alfalfa to larger
samples such as corn, tobacco, and cotton.
Samples are rapidly measured by placing
them on a transparent belt that passes through the LI-3100. The samples travel under a
fluorescent light source, and the image is reflected to a solid-state scanning camera.
Perforated leaves and those with irregular margins are correctly
measured using the LI-3100. This is especially important in determining leaf damage and
insect feeding trails.
You can now store data directly to a computer
and work on them through Windows® Interface Software.
